Introducing the New Pastor


Fr. Eliseo Napiere of the Mission Society of the Philippines who is a new pastor of St. James, the Less Catholic Church of Perris, CA. was born in Maribojoc, Bohol in June 14, 1965. Ordained priest in January 19, 1991 in Manila. He worked as Parochial Vicar at the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Cebu City in 1991 and became a Dean of Seminarians of the Fil-Mission Seminary in Tagaytay City, in 1994, he was elected as member of the MSP General Council and worked as the Bursar General (finance Officer) of the MSP for 7 years. He was assigned to Taiwan in 2002 as a missionary for 15 years and was appointed as the Executive Secretary for the Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People of the Chinese Regional Bishop conference (CRBC) and a National Director of the Apostleship of the Sea our 10 years. He represented the CRBC to the International Conferences pertaining to migration issues in Southeast Asia. He served as the secretary of the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) Asia Working Group for 5 years. In 2016, the MSP sent him to the Diocese of San Bernardino in California and served as the Parochial Vicar of ST. Edward Church in Corona for 2 years.

In his message to the parishioners in St. James the Less Church in Perris, he emphasized to importance of living out the vision of the Diocese...."to be the people filled with hope: by doing the mission to impact families, neighborhood and Society through the Gospel. In doing so, he also encouraged the people to be always mindful to the 4 core values of the Diocese as the ways to impact lives with the Gospel through Hospitality, this is to enhance the culture in inclusiveness in the Church; through Collaboration, is to enhance the attitude of working together as one people; through Faith-sharing, is to live a life in constant dialogue with others... a dialogue of life and faith that breaks down walls of division and build the bridges of connectivity will all the peoples from different walks of life: and through reconciliation, is to reach out in order to bring healing to shattered families, confused neighborhood and hurtful society. All these can only be done through "Amar es Entregarse" - A love that is total self-giving.
